Hello Tutu School Families,

I’m writing with a heart full of gratitude and joy, because the very first Tutu School I ever opened, Tutu School West Portal, is officially turning 10 years old! Ten years ago, I walked into Tutu School Redwood City with my two-year-old daughter Zoey. I remember being completely charmed by the space with so much joy, so much laughter in just one class. At the time, I was a stay-at-home mom standing at a crossroads: Should I return to corporate life, or take a different path?

That “different path” turned out to be more rewarding than I ever imagined. While there were challenging times (remember streaming online during Covid years?), there were magical times too happening in the studio and remotely. Some of our amazing teachers have taken on new leadership roles—mentoring, managing, and helping us grow. We’ve introduced new offerings such as Baby Ballet! And yet, some things have never changed: Tutu School remains a safe, joyful space where children (and grown-ups) can twirl freely, imagine boldly, and learn through the magic of movement. We still end every class with storytime, and we continue to listen to every piece of feedback with care and intention.

To the thousands of families who have walked through our doors, thank you. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the dancing. Thank you for believing in the magic.

Dear Tutu School Families:
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since I started teaching at Tutu School West Portal! I still remember our first week open and the excitement of a new business catered toward young children.
I’ve had the pleasure over that time of twirling with so many of your creative, inquisitive, caring dancers. I love coming to classes each week to share in their new discoveries, challenges, and growth. And nothing can beat the smiles and sparkles seeing them shine on stage at Bravo Bash!
Your families have made Tutu School West Portal a special place to work and a second home for teachers and students. Thank you!
We would love to celebrate with you at our anniversary party this Saturday, October 18th. Please RSVP below; space is limited. We would especially love to see alumni from our first few years stop by to say hi! Alumni ages 10 and older do not need to RSVP. Just come by to say hi anytime between 12:30-3:30pm.
