Inside Royal Court Camp | Kids Ballet Camp in Renton
What Makes Our Kids Ballet Camp in Renton So Special?
There’s something magical about seeing a ballet studio transformed into a royal kingdom.
This summer, our dancers arrived each morning ready to become princes, princesses, queens, kings, and brave knights as they stepped into the enchanting world of Royal Court Camp at Tutu School Renton. The week was filled with twirling, storytelling, creativity, and joyful moments we couldn’t wait to share.
Whether your family joined us this summer or you’re curious about what Tutu Camp is all about, here’s a look inside one unforgettable week of ballet, imagination, and royal adventures.

A Different Royal Adventure Every Day
One of our favorite parts of Royal Court Camp was watching dancers step into a new ballet story each day.
Throughout the week, campers met Prince Ivan and Princess Katerina from The Firebird, Prince Albrecht from Giselle, Prince Siegfried and the Swan Queen, Odette, from Swan Lake, and Princess Aurora and Prince Florimund from Sleeping Beauty. Each story celebrated qualities like kindness, courage, friendship, and perseverance while inspiring the movement, crafts, and imaginative adventures that followed.
For our dancers, these weren’t simply stories they listened to—they became stories they danced, imagined, and brought to life together.

Crowns, Castles, and Creative Adventures
Every day brought a new hands-on activity that invited dancers to become part of the story.
Campers decorated sparkling crowns, created royal necklaces, designed magical castles, and crafted enchanted mirrors worthy of a palace. Each project reflected the day’s ballet story, giving dancers another way to explore the world they had stepped into through movement and imagination.
Together, these keepsakes became part of the magic they created throughout the week.

More Than Ballet
Of course, there was plenty of dancing.
Campers waltzed through royal balls, balanced like elegant princes and princesses, built imaginary sandcastles with tendus, explored castles through creative movement, and rehearsed together for Friday’s special performance.
Some of our favorite moments happened between the dances.
Watching a child encourage a new friend.
Seeing a dancer who felt shy on Monday proudly step forward by Friday.
Those quiet moments of growth remind us that Tutu Camp is about so much more than ballet. It’s a place where children build confidence, friendships, creativity, and a lifelong love of movement—all while believing, for just a little while, that they truly belong in a royal court.

A Royal Celebration
The week ended with one of our favorite traditions: welcoming families into the studio for a special performance.
There is something incredibly meaningful about watching dancers proudly share everything they learned throughout the week. Whether they remembered every step or simply smiled with confidence while wearing the crown they created themselves, every child had a moment to shine.
Those proud smiles from both dancers and families are memories we’ll treasure long after summer has ended.

Curious About Tutu Camp?
If this is your first glimpse into one of our camps, here’s what makes them so special.
Tutu Camps are designed for children ages 3–8 and combine ballet, storytelling, creative movement, crafts, music, and imaginative play into an immersive week of joyful learning. No previous ballet experience is needed—just a willingness to imagine, explore, and have fun.
Every camp features a unique storybook theme, giving children the opportunity to experience beloved ballet stories while building confidence, creativity, friendships, and a love of movement.

We Can’t Wait for Our Next Adventure
Although our royal kingdom has packed away its crowns for the summer, the magic is far from over.
We’re already looking forward to our Thanksgiving Break Camp and Winter Break Camp, where dancers will once again spend their days immersed in ballet, storytelling, crafts, music, and imaginative adventures.
Whether your child joined us for Royal Court Camp or is thinking about trying Tutu Camp for the very first time, we’d love to welcome your family for our next Storybook Adventure in Ballet.
