Bravo Bash Untangled: a Performance Checklist
Bright Lights and Shining Stars
The Bravo Bash performance is approaching at Tutu School Haslet. Dancers are trying on costumes and preparing for their big day! In the flurry of rehearsals and excitement, it is easy to get lost in all of the glitter and tutus. As a parent, you are not only your child’s manager, make-up artist, hairstylist, and costume director—you are also their #1 audience member. So here is a small checklist to help you feel less stressed and more organized during recital season.
You can find all performance details, venue, times, ticket links HERE!

Before the Recital
Preparing your dancer for the recital is crucial to elevate their confidence and help them feel their best! Attending classes is the best way to prepare your dancer for their choreography.
If you want some extra practice at home, try watching our Tutu Tapes for choreography help!
Kind Words and Bonding
Especially if you have a dancer in an older age division, it is important to support your little one with words of affirmation. Let them know how proud you are of all their accomplishments. Our children are always seeking our approval and attention; therefore, during this preparation period, stay positive, and don’t forget to share your excitement and feelings about them through kind words!
Qué ponerse
Before the week of the recital, make sure you are prepared with these:
- Bravo Bash Costume (Provided by Tutu School Haslet)
- Bravo Bash Tiara (Provided by Tutu School Haslet)
- Ballet Pink/Light Pink Tights
- Pink/Light Colored Ballet Slippers, anything from our ballet boutique!
- No body or hair glitter of any type! The venue is very strict about this.

The Night Before The Recital
It is no secret that the morning of the recital can be stressful! There is so much to do and time seems to fly right by. This is why it’s important to prepare yourself for that morning the day before.
- Pack your bag – Remember that anything could happen at a recital. It is not unusual to pack extra tights, makeup, bobby-pins, baby wipes, snacks, nail clippers, or anything that you can think of!
- Pack a water bottle
- Lay out your costume, makeup, and hair supplies in a place that is organized and easy to get ready in.

The Day of The Recital
The day of the recital is here! You and your little one are so excited for their big day! Below is the final list that will help you on the recital day!
- Breakfast – Don’t forget this step!
- Hair – Pull the dancer’s hair away from their face with a hairstyle that will withstand a whirlwind recital! Use hairspray and bobby-pins then pin their crown onto their head. You can use this bun tutorial for extra tips HERE.
- Costume – Make sure your dancer has: tights, shoes, costume, and crown! Put these on before you arrive at the venue.
- Water bottle – very important!
- Ballet Bag – Make sure you have the essentials! Snacks, shoes, water, etc.
- Bravo Bash Ticket – One for each audience member.
Last Step: ENJOY!
Recitals can be all over the place, but the moment your little dancer hits the stage at the beautiful UNT Performance Hall, all of your fears melt away. The most important thing to do during the recital is to enjoy! It is customary but by no means required to celebrate your little dancer with flowers or a small gift to celebrate their hard work. You can bring whatever you would like to the venue, or purchase bouquets and gifts at the event as well. We will have Odette, flowers, and other sweet gifts!
