Magic Maker On Call

Purpose

Magic Makers On Call is an invitation-only team of trained Tutu School teachers who help bring the magic when extra support is needed. This role is designed for teachers who may not be looking for a regular weekly schedule but would still love to create meaningful dance experiences through substitute teaching, birthday parties, camps, events, recitals, and other special opportunities. As our trio of schools expands, there are always exciting opportunities to fill!

Opportunities May Include

• Emergency substitute teaching
• Planned substitute coverage
• Ballet Birthday parties
• Camps 
• Kid’s Night Out, Studio Events, Dance Playdates 
• Community outreach events – On Location support at Fairs & Festivals 

What Makes This Role Different?

• No regularly scheduled weekly classes
• No minimum weekly hours
• Opportunities are offered as they arise
• You choose which opportunities fit your schedule
• Simplified communication with no expectation of attending regular meetings or following day-to-day studio operations

Expectations

While every opportunity is optional, this role is intended for teachers who would like to remain active with Tutu School. Team members generally participate in at least 2–4 opportunities per quarter to remain active on the roster. More available if desired.

Training & Resources

Accelerated training process and audit for those with education experience. Or gain experience through our training, if you are interested to develop skill in the Early Childhood dance classroom. We will provide event schedules and/or lesson plans as needed, and you will execute. Final approval to join by audit completion – lead a shift of classes for evaluation and jump into the magic!

Compensation

• Premium hourly rate for emergency substitute teaching
• Minimum paid time for emergency call-ins (where applicable)
• Milage beyond a certain expected radius to home location compensated 
• Training rate for additional catch up preparation like recital choreography 

Who We’re Looking For

Magic Makers On Call are trusted and trained teachers who:

• Have successfully completed Tutu School training/audit
• Once trained – can confidently teach multiple class levels independently
• Create warm, engaging experiences for any dancers and families who they may not know 
• Are adaptable – Thrive on varying size groups of dancers and venues, don’t need stable routine with expected outcomes  
• Are excited by thinking in the moment, meeting knew people and handling the unexpected  
• Are dependable communicators
• Looking to work substantially with you children, but a regular schedule isn’t the right fit
